CAPITALISMO DE VIGILÂNCIA E OS REFLEXOS DA LEI DE PROTEÇÃO GERAL DE DADOS NA LIBERDADE DOS CIDADÃOS

Abstract

The present work aims to address the new reality of a world immersed in the digital age, showing how the transformations of this progressive connectivity took place, and also articulating the current conjunctures of States under the aegis of Big Data,

whose main focus is on the prism of privacy violation and its legal and moral implications that reverberate in the life of the entire community.

The work was carried out based on a descriptive and critical methodology regarding Surveillance Capitalism, from which the subjects present here were extracted from texts, articles, and books, intending to foster this scientific work through a qualitative approach, seeking the valorization of the inductive method, these based on bibliographic procedures. After debates and expositions on the themes addressed in this academic work, it is concluded that the unrestrained advance of data collection and legal fragilities constitute a fertile ground for the weakening of democracies and consequently of the principles of human dignity. For this, the most plausible solution is to strengthen the laws and continue to believe that democracy will prevail over the constant threats of a digitally manipulated world.
