The pension reform in the Military Police of the State of Ceará brought significant changes, most notably in the length of service provided by public servants. The purpose of this academic production is to demonstrate the impacts that occurred with the changes, the historical evolution and differences between the general regime and the pension regime itself. The methodology used to develop the research was bibliographic. Other very relevant points of the research were the maintenance of pay for military police officers who are inactive, not being linked to the salary ceiling of the general pension scheme. The government's concern with managing the resources collected through social security necessitated the creation of bodies to manage the collection and payment of benefits. Solidarity contributions from inactive people were a widely discussed and analyzed topic, due to the significant impact on their primary economies. The freezing of inflation rates brings peace of mind and the possibility of carrying out financial programming, avoiding “surprises” in civil servants’ accounts.
